Hi everyone!! I'm Zohra Halloul and I am a junior in Animal Sciences, minoring in Chemistry. I am beyond excited to be serving as your president this year! As of right now, I am interested in small animal and exotic surgery but my interests are always evolving. On campus, I am involved in a few other RSO's. This year I am vice president of BloomHer Health, one of Cheese Club's programs chairs, and membership director of Illini Stubs! I am also involved in Animal Sciences Ambassadors, ACES Student Leadership Council, and a pediatric nutrition research lab where we work with piglets! Outside of school, I love to binge watch TV, take care of my pets, and at home, I work at a small animal GP and a bakery.
My favorite PVC memories are from last year's trip to Mizzou and the APVMA Symposiums! I love PVC because of the inspiring community and mentors it has brought me! Through PVC I have been able to experience more than I could ever imagine and I am forever grateful to all of the other pre-vet students who I can grow alongside of. I cannot wait for a fantastic year and I can't wait to get to know you all! Please don't hesitate to reach out!
Favorite Animal: leatherback sea turtles, beluga whales, and box turtles!

Hey everybody, I'm Kyle and I am a senior in Animal Sciences with interests in a mixed animal practice. My favorite animal is a frog, though I love cattle just as much. On campus, I am involved in undergraduate research in nutrition and am a member and past vice president in my social fraternity. Outside of class, I enjoy going to Illini sports games, playing card games with my fraternity brothers, and watching TV. At home, I work at 2 clinics, one small animal and one mixed animal GP. My favorite memory from PVC was the APVMA conference this past year as well as a bunch of opportunities to strengthen my network of future and current veterinary professionals! I am super excited to be your vice president and can't wait to connect with you all!

My favorite PVC memory is the APVMA symposium in LSU last year where I got to learn skills such as suturing and got to meet so many vet school representatives which helped me find vet schools that I want to apply to. Other than being very informative, the APVMA symposium also showed me how welcoming and supportive this amazing club is and helped me make long-lasting friendships and connections.

Hi everyone, I'm Sakura! I am sophomore in Animal Sciences, in the pre-veterinary track. I have not figured out what I specifically want to do in vet med since there are so many things I have not seen and learned. BUT surgery, emergency care, and wildlife are some fields I am interested in! On Campus, I volunteer at the Wildlife Medical Clinic and research about fox genetics and behaviors! I am also part of the Illini Boxing Club, and that has been a memorable part of my college experience! Outside of being student, I love to sing, run, hike, and just enjoy the nature when I feel overwhelmed!
My favorite memory from Pre-Vet Club is LAICU shadowing where I got to observe many surgeries and procedures. I also got to meet great veterinarians and vet students at the shadowing which was also really cool! One of the reasons why I wanted to be a program coordinator was because of all the great opportunities I got from programs last year, so I am excited to provide you guys the same experience! I hope you guys enjoy all our programs this year :)

Hi! My name is Christina (she/her), and I am a senior majoring in integrative biology with a minor in chemistry. In my free time, I love to stay active through hiking, figure skating, and rock climbing. I also work at the UI Ice Arena as a Learn-to-Skate instructor and in customer service. After I graduate undergrad, I plan to get a job in wildlife conservation or zoo medicine, hoping to be involved in more research. After, I want to go to veterinary school to eventually become a wildlife veterinarian.
A fun fact about myself is that I've been face to face with the largest venomous pit viper in the world while in the Amazon Rainforest.

My favorite PVC memory was the APVMA symposium last spring. The symposium truly allowed me to learn so much about the diverse field of veterinary medicine and was a great opportunity to get to find out more about the different vet schools across the US and the world. Hi everyone! My name is Madison Taylor, and I am a junior majoring in Animal Sciences with an interest in small animal medicine—although goats will always have a special place in my heart! On campus, I am involved with the Animal Sciences Ambassadors and the ACES Student Leadership Council. This year I will also be a teaching assistant for ANSC 205 in the fall and ANSC 298 in the spring.
Outside of the classroom, I work as a veterinary assistant and animal caretaker while conducting research in Dr. Rowland’s lab. Through my research, I have gained hands-on experience collecting blood samples from pigs and purifying plasmids used in research on Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV), giving me valuable exposure to both animal handling and molecular biology techniques.
I love being part of the Pre-Vet Club because it brings together students who share a passion for veterinary medicine. It’s a great way to connect with others, learn from experienced professionals, and explore the many opportunities within the field.
When I’m not busy with school or work, you’ll probably find me spending time with my Goldendoodle, Murphy, or my betta fish, Hei Hei. I’m excited to meet everyone and can’t wait for another great year with the Pre-Vet Club!
