Meet the Exec Board!

President: Bella Wilton

Hi everyone! I am Bella Wilton and I am a senior in Animal Sciences, minoring in Psychology. I am so excited to be serving as your president this year! Currently, I am interested in small animal medicine, and I am exploring specialties in internal medicine and orthopedics. On campus, I’m involved in a few other RSO’s and undergraduate research with clownfish. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, working out, and doing nail art, and I work at a small animal GP at home. My favorite PVC memories are the Spay/Neuter clinics in Chicago and the APVMA Symposium trips. I love PVC because it offers so many opportunities for members to grow as students and professionals, and I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you all!

Vice President: Jenna Bellavia

Hi everyone, I’m Jenna! I am a senior in Animal Sciences minoring in Public Health. I am interested in large animal or mixed practice medicine! My favorite animal is a cow, but I am obsessed with my dog and two cats. While on campus, I work at a private horse barn and am involved in multiple RSOs, but while at home I work at a small animal GP and intern with an equine vet. During my free time outside of school, I love reading, working out, watersports, and snowboarding! My favorite memories of PVC are the APVMA Symposium trips or the fall kickoff socials, although PVC has provided me with so many opportunities that have gained my confidence in vet-med! I am super excited to be your vice president this year and cannot wait to meet you all!

Hi guys! I’m Zohra and I am a sophomore in Animal Sciences, minoring in Chemistry and Psychology. I am interested in small animal surgery but I love to learn new things and explore my options. As your Secretary, I hope to provide resources and help you learn why PVC is the best club ever! On campus, I am involved in ACES Student Leadership Council, the REACT program, I volunteer at CATsNAP, and last year I did pediatric nutrition research with pigs. At home, I love baking, watching TV, and cloud watching! My favorite PVC memories are from when we went to Kentucky for the Hagyard Medical Institute and Tennessee for the APVMA! I’m so excited to be your secretary this year, please reach out if you ever need anything!

Treasurer: Christina Hsieh

Hi, I’m Christina! I am a Junior in Integrative Biology, minoring in Chemistry. I’m not sure what specifically I want to go into in the future, but I love goats and sheep. I’d love to have my own someday and maybe even work with them. On campus, I’m involved with the Wildlife Medical Clinic, and I work at the Ice Arena. I like to figure skate! I am also part of the rock climbing club here. I love anything that has to do with being active, being outdoors, and music. At home, I work at a zoo for farm animals/exotics and a small animal GP. I love PVC because this club gives such a wide variety of valuable experiences and having a community of pre-vet students can be comforting and inspirational. I didn’t consider being pre-vet until just last year and joining PVC has helped me so much in getting my foot in the door towards becoming a vet. Feel free to reach out, and I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Programs: Aadhya Ganesh

Hi everyone, I’m Aadhya! I’m a senior in Integrative Biology, hoping to go into exotics practice. I ADORE any and all birds– especially amazon parrots– and would love to open my own parrot rescue/clinic someday. On campus, I’m involved with Chronic Wasting Disease research, bird-banding, and canine rehab at the vet school. In my free time, I’m usually reading, illustrating for my non-profit, or frog-watching. As Programs Co-Chair, I love exploring the diverse fields within vet med and meeting new people.

Some of my favorite programs have been our trips to Brookfield Zoo and the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, as well as our Herps and Parrot handling programs. I’m always happy to chat and can’t wait to get to know you all!

Programs: Alice Lua

Hi! I’m Alice and I am a senior in Integrative Biology Honors with minors in Chemistry and Animal Science. I hope to pursue small animal medicine but I’m keeping my mind open to exploration. I’m involved with nutrition research in beagles and cats, the Wildlife Medical Clinic, canine rehab, and I am a customer service rep at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Outside of vet-med, I am a part of Illini World Taekwondo and I love being a crazy cat lady. My favorite part of being programs co-chair is seeking out unique opportunities and trying them all alongside you guys! Don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any questions or just want to chat :)

Philanthropy: AJ Studer

Hi everybody! I’m AJ, and I’m going into my junior year as a NRES major in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation biology. I’m currently completing minors in Animal Sciences, Chemistry, and Education. I am working my way towards becoming a wildlife veterinarian who completes both emergency and rehabilitative medicine for animals both in a clinical setting and out in the wild. I am also working my way to complete the qualifications to become a wildlife biologist! On campus I’ve worked in the NRES ambassador program, in multiple roles at the Wildlife Medical Clinic, and I’m looking forward to shadowing in the Small Animal Emergency Room here at VetMed. My favorite things to do outside of work is to go on hiking trips across the Midwest, play baseball, workout with my friends, read, anything related to aviation, try cooking new and fun recipes, and pretty much anything outdoors. My favorite memories from PVC were the trip to St. Louis for the World Bird Sanctuary, the APVMA trip, and the Herp Wetlab. I love PVC not only because of all the amazing experiences and people that I’ve worked with but because of the community and culture of the club itself. Everyday there’s something new and exciting that’s waiting to happen and I can’t wait to see what's next. I look forward to having fun with y’all this year and please let me know if there’s any questions I can help with!

Fundraising: Rilee Hendrix

Hiya, I’m Rilee!! I’m a senior in Animal Sciences, and in Rural Area Student Initiative (RASI) as well as PVC! I was a Parkland Pathways student, so this is my second year being full time at UIUC. You’ll typically hear about me petsitting, how the elementary students I tutor have been acting, and working at my clinic back home! PVC has been a GREAT source of experiences that I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise! If you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out through GroupMe or the email and we can talk about it!

Public Relations: JJ DeLeon

Hi everyone, I’m JJ! I am a senior in Integrative Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Currently, I am hoping to go into zoo medicine or exotic companion animal medicine. Although I love dogs and cats, reptiles have always won over my heart. On campus, I’m involved in Dr. Rhodes undergraduate research lab with clownfish and excited to join the Wildlife Medical Clinic this year! In my free time, I enjoy lifting, cooking, or watching TV with my iguana Rihanna, and at home I love to volunteer at my local dog rescue. I love PVC because of the community and the abundant opportunities offered for pre-veterinary students to help them grow throughout their journey. A few of my favorite PVC memories have been the Herp wetlab and our trip to the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky. I am always happy to talk or answer any questions and I can’t wait to meet everyone this year!

SLC Rep: Madison Taylor

Hi, I’m Madison! I am a Sophomore in Animal Sciences. I am also a Parkland Pathways Student, which means I am enrolled at both Parkland and UIUC. On campus, I am involved in Animal Science Ambassadors, ACES Student Leadership Council, and I work in a Pathobiology Research lab, studying Porcine Respiratory and Reproductive Syndrome Virus, at Vet Med! Off of campus, I work at a doggy daycare and vet clinic! Currently, I am interested in companion animal medicine. However, after helping Mr. Mosely with his family goats, I have started to grow a love for farm animals! Besides companion animal medicine, I am also interested in specializing in radiology or emergency medicine! My favorite PVC programs are the parrot handling program and the suturing wet lab! In fact, the unique opportunities offered by Pre-Vet Club were a big part of why I chose UIUC. I believe that this club truly sets this campus apart from others. Joining this club has given me incredible connections, hands-on experiences, and a supportive community that continues to inspire me as I work toward veterinary school. I can’t wait to welcome new members to the club and share all of these opportunities with you all!
